Cedar Shake Roof Sealer!

Cedar shake roofs are beautiful higher end roofs. These roofs cater to the higher end client that prefer the natural look of wood and the dimensional effect that the shake shingles display. The problem is maintenance can be very costly and dangerous.

Typically a Cedar shake roof can cost tens to hundred's of thousand of dollars to install. They are a very beautiful roof when compared to the traditional asphalt shingle roof. The problem lies in the cost and or difficulty in restoring these roofs. You can either have then cleaned and stained with a transparent stain every two years or you can let the wood gray and "patina" naturally from the sun. The problem is that the constant sun, snow, and rain will deteriorate the cedar. This will lead to rotting and decay and eventually replacement of the entire roof.

Now there is a permanent option that will prevent internal rot and decay. CretoWood is a one time application that will permanently harden the interior cells of the cedar shingles. The chemical reaction between the active ingredients causes an internal barrier against rotting and decay and internally stabilizes the cellular structure. The silica in the CretoWood will react with the acids and alkaline which are present in the cedar shingles, creating a membrane that hydrates into "glass" over a 6 month period. This is a permanent solution that will also stop water from penetrating completely throughout the wood!

The advantages to CretoWood can save your cedar shake roof and you from thousands of dollars in damage. The CretoWood will not change the color of the wood and it will allow the wood to patina naturally from the Sun's UV rays. This creates a natural look that is desired without ever having to treat the roof again!

My cedar roof is already starting to fall apart. I am considering replacing it.
Would the CretoWood fix my roof so I did not need to spend the money on
replacement?

CretoWood will not fix wood that is already rotting. The cellular structure
needs to be stable so that the Creto can react and petrify the inside.

I would like to suggest to go for replacement, even if costs more. The beauty of
the Cedar is its look and if it can't be restored then should be replaced.

If the rain is going to deteriorate the wood and if this kind of roofing is
dangerous it will be good to revert back to a safer roofing.

Can internal rot and decay be permanently prevented? If so what are the methods
though the essay mentioned some of the options?

Internal rot and decay cannot be stopped permanently but it can prolonged for
many many years when you use the Cretowood product.
