SOMETIMES STRIPPING IS NECESSARY 3 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 6
There are times when stripping brick pavers back to their original state is absolutly necessary, I've seen jobs where there was too many recoats done on top of each other, and the aromatic solvent just wouldn't work, or another job where a lanscaper used slag sand as a joint sand and then sealed it leaving pieces of slag stuck to the face of the recently installed pavers. I dont believe THESEALERSTORE has a shippable stripper as these products are very toxic and not homeowner friendly. There is probably not a large number of contractors offering this service either as far as I know, at least here in michigan, we just added this service over the last two years. But it is possible and anyone with questions feel free to post. I do not recommend a homeowner perform this task with these chemicals, and should aquire the service of a professional.

To strip a failed paver sealer you need a heavy duty stripper that contains methylene chloride. We do carry this type of product at our store in metro Detroit but we do not ship it due to HazMat regulations. If you are looking for a product that is commerically available, then I would suggest a brand name called "Dads Stripper".
