Defy clear sealer application 3 Years, 6 Months ago Karma: 0
I have stripped and brightened my deck and now ready to seal. I'm using defy clear sealer on a cedar deck. Defy recommends 2 coats wet on wet on the web site , but on the bucket it says only one coat on cedar and mohogany. Can anyone tell what is the actual application. I've sealed this deck 4 times in 5 and a half years and I want to do it right this time. Alot of my broblems in the past have been putting to much on.

Thanks dono

You are correct, thicker is not better when it comes to applying deck stains to horizontal surfaces.

I would go with what the label says about one coat. You can always put on another coat down the road in a few months.
