The Sealer Store (13:00:03):

Hello, How may I help you?

Debbie Sewulich (13:00:22): Could you answer a paver question.
The Sealer Store (13:00:37): Sure
Debbie Sewulich (13:02:11): I had my entire driveway and walkway done with Cambridge pavers last year. My contractor sealed it and all was well, THis year I added a border on both sides of the driveway and he resealed it and I am sick. I have white milkey spots all over the pavers. It looks horrible. He tells me it will wear off.
The Sealer Store (13:02:44): Just white on the new borders?
Debbie Sewulich (13:03:15): no the whole driveway.
Debbie Sewulich (13:03:24): wet looks worst
The Sealer Store (13:03:57): Do you know if he used the same sealer?
Debbie Sewulich (13:04:25): all I can say is that he said he did
The Sealer Store (13:04:46): FYI, it will not "wear" off. It is most likely a moisture issue.
The Sealer Store (13:05:20): Trapped moisture causes sealers to turn white. Do you know the brand of the sealer?
Debbie Sewulich (13:05:32): what can I do? Are they ruined?
The Sealer Store (13:07:08): If he used a solvent based sealer then you can try to reset the sealer by adding a solvent. This should release the trapped moisture. If he used a "cheap" sealer from Home Depot or something, then you will need to strip it all off.
The Sealer Store (13:07:36): Paver Stripper
The Sealer Store (13:08:00): Solvent
Debbie Sewulich (13:08:05): what do you mean by "reset"
The Sealer Store (13:08:40): The solvent softens the acrylic and releases trapped moisture.
Debbie Sewulich (13:09:06): Is it something I can do myself?
The Sealer Store (13:09:14): Problem is that it may come back since you said it looks worse when it rains.
The Sealer Store (13:09:40): Yes. Just spray on. See the second link I sent.
Debbie Sewulich (13:10:05): sounds like stripping it would be a better long term solution?
The Sealer Store (13:11:34): Maybe but a lot harder to do. The solvent is easier and works very well about 90% of the time. It is hard to say without knowing what or type of sealer he used.
Debbie Sewulich (13:12:03): ok. thanks for your help
The Sealer Store (13:12:49): You are welcome
The Sealer Store (13:12:58):
