I'm interested in applying the Defy brick sealer to my brick chimneys. The chimneys are painted. I want to scrape off the old peeling paint and repaint them. Is it possible to apply paint on top of the brick sealant? If so, any restrictions on the kind of paint or how to apply it?

The brick must be free of paint for the water repellent to work properly. Here is the link for more information:

If the brick carries certain amount of paint in it then it will be very tough for the water repellent to work effectively.
