Defy Water Repellent 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
I have used brick piers and walls at the entrance of my driveway which were coated only with Tompsons masonry sealer. Can Defy solvent based repellent be applied over bricks previously treated only with Tompsons sealer which appears to be effective for 2 years at best?

My house is also built with used brick facing which was initially coated with Tompsons. It was then coated with Enviroseal 2 years later and again with Tompsons 6 or 7 years after that in an effort to hide blushing (milky look) caused by the Enviroseal product. Can Defy be applied over bricks previously treated with Enviroseal, which is a 2 part latex based silane sealer, and then coated with Tompsons 6 or 7 years later? The Tompsons hides the blushing well but doesn't last very long as I mentioned previously. Has your product been known to cause blushing? Do you think it will hide blushing as well as Tompsons? If so, do you think it is likely to last longer than Tompsons?

The Defy can be applied to any substrate as long as their is "porosity". If you apply a cup of water to the concrete does it penetrate in right away or does it bead? If it penetrates then the Defy will be able to as well.

Defy Water Repellent does not cause blushing or hide it. Being that it is 100% penetrating and does not leave a film, it is not possible to "hide" the blushing.

Thanks

Water affects almost all the wooden objects. Water repellents have become a must in the present day as a protective measure against the destructive ability of water.

We need to waterproof our brick chimney and front porch as well as our driveway. Will the Defy Mason Saver work for both or should we order two products?
thanks!

I am interested in Defy Heavy Duty Water repellent. If I get a trimetal sprayer to apply it. Can I also use this sprayer for applying concrete dye like the acetone base Super Color Concrete Stain?

The defy is going to be used for a Driveaway. The color stain would be for the basement. In regards to the color stain, what would be recommended for sealer the floor prior to staining the concrete floor of the basement.
