Petrify decks from rotting 3 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 1
I have been considering offering this cretowood to my services this year. When would this be applied to the deck. Before washing? Before Staining? After staining?

Is there any issues as to how this is applied and will it hinder the stain from adhering properly?

Cretowood should be applied to the wood after cleaning and while still wet. The best bet would be to us a deck brightener after applying the cretowood to change the pH balance back. This should be done 30-45 minutes after applying the Cretowood.

Do not get the cretowood on glass or aluminum/fiberglass trim. This product contains a silica that will etch these surfaces. It will not harm the vegetation or you though.

CretoWood will not prevent any top coat stain from properly adhering to the wood.

So the Cretowood does not "bead" water or stain but hardens the inside. Will it help the TWP stain in performance?

The Cretowood will stablize the wood cells enhancing the bond of any deck stain.

Not at all. It applies like water and dries without any color change.
