Cedar Deck Stain 2 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
I have two cedar decks that are about 10 years old. They have been treated in the past with a Flood product and it does well on the sunnier deck, but the very shaded north side deck near the sound gets super slippery with mold and green stuff. I've been reading about your products and they seem to be the best for what I need. I'm not worried about UV, just the best product that does not feed the mold and all. Your suggestion please.

The Defy Stains do not "feed" mold/algae growth like oil based products can. The problem is that mold/algae can grow on any surface and there is no way to stop it. In general water based stains such as the Defy brand is the way to minimizing this.

Makes sure that you remove the Flood product from the wood prior to recoating with the Defy.
