deck stain 2 Years, 5 Months ago Karma: 0
I stained my deck floor yesterday color is barn red, we do not like the color can I stain directly over the new stain I put on or do i need to strip it off.

If it was a transparent stain then yes you should strip it down first. If it was a solid stain then you may be okay to stain over. I would check with the manufacturer first though.

Even application of the stain is essential. Stain has to be filled in a small bucket or a rolling pan. A brush has to be immersed into the pan or the bucket and the roll the brush.

What are the advantages of staining a deck? Will the staining process protect the deck from water caused damages? And what will be the overall appearance of the deck after the deck stain process?

If you do not do this the wood will rot, decay, and naturally gray from the oxidation of the cells.
