Stain questions 3 Years, 10 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi, I am a contractor in Portland, OR and have been staining and sealing decks as one of our services for 2 years and have yet to find a product that I am very happy with. I have been looking at Penofin, Ready Seal, and Wood Tux as possible options to use for our future clients. Do you have any suggestions as to what might hold up in the wet climate we haver here. I would like a product that would hold up well and will be easy to maintain. I have pretty much used the over the counter type stains you find at the big box retailers, i.e. behr, flood, thompson, etc.

What cleaners and strippers do you recomend? I have found the zep deck cleaner/brightener works ok but I know there needs to be something better.

Also, how long would it typically take to get the products to me if I were to start purchasing through you?

Any Information would be greatly appreciated.

All of those products are good quality deck stains. You definitely want to use a product that is not prone to mold. I would suggest:

Wood Tux
TWP
Woodrich Stain and Seal
TheSealerStore Timberoil
Defy

All of these wood stains do very well with mold and mildew. For cleaning you may want to go with the Extreme Solution products or our Injectable strippers/brighteners.

Delivery to Oregon can take up to 5 business days.
