What should I use for my new cedar deck 2 Years, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
Hi! I have heard great things about your company, so I am looking for advice from a professional. I just built a brand new 24x24 cedar deck. I am planning on staining/sealing it soon. I have read MANY articles, blogs, websites, etc. and I am having trouble getting "good" advice. I am looking for a product that will allow me to "reapply" when needed WITHOUT having to sand the entire deck and railings. I am concerned about the "peeling" that happens with some products and I also do not want to get into a seriously labor intensive reapplication each year. I have read about some "water repellents,semi-transparents, film forming, oil based..." products. I am a bit overwhelmed by all the information (most of it conflicting). I like the look of the cedar as it stands but DO NOT want it to "gray" over time. I am NOT opposed to semi-transparent with some color. Can you please advise me on which product(s) are best. I know you are professionals and have the true experience and knowledge I need.

The only product we suggest for new cedar is:
TimberOil Stain

We use this product whenever we stain new cedar since it absorbs extremely well. It is also a product that is easily re-coatable after a mild cleaning.
