Brazilian Walnut Deck Help 1 Year, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
which one of your cleaners, and which one of your oils do you recommend for a deck with lapacho(Brazil walnut).this deck has had Cabot mahogany stain and possibly Thompson water seal applied in the past.I tried the Cabot stain last summer and it wouldn't penetrate into the wood,it just stayed on top of the deck and wouldn't dry,but that was only in the places that didn't get much sun exposure.

1. Strip off all old coatings with a.wood deck stripper
2. Apply wood deck brightener to neutralize the stripper.
3. Apply a stain that will penetrate into you wood properly. Do not over apply! Any of these products should work good. Your wood is a very dense wood. It will require application of a stain on an annual basis.
