I have a mahogany deck that is 9 months old. Part of the deck is cedar and the understructure is treated lumber. What would you recommend for it? Do I have to do anything to prepare it besides lightly pressure wash it? How long should it last. I live in Ohio? Part of the deck is 18 feet in the air, do I need to do the underside?

Mahogany requires a hardwood stain due to the density of the wood. You will need to apply a coating annually to this type of wood. It will be best to use a stain that will allow a light cleaning and re coating whenever needed. There is a lot that will work on this link:
