Cost of IPE wood decking 2 Years ago Karma: 0
IPE wood decking is costlier than the decking made of cedar or lumber for that matter. Why is it that IPE costs cannot be compared to the costs of lumber and to the costs of cedar? Is it due to the quality difference?

IPE is much more durable then cedar when to comes to rotting and decay. It is also imported from South America which can drive up the cost. It is a beautiful wood when stained. However due the the extreme density of the IPE, it will require maintenance coatings annually.
