I have a log home and want to see if I am on the right track with your products, if not could you guide me in the right direction. I want to remove the old stain using HD-80 and use the citralic wood brightener after. Do I need to scrub with the HD-80 or brightener? Then reading on which stains for a log home, messmers timberflex or wood tux. Which of those would you recommend? looking for long lasting between cleaning and restaining. Can either of those be stained over, with the same product?

The HD80 softens old stains so you will need to pressure wash to remove the residue. The Citralic neutralizes the wood when you are done with the stripping process. There is no need to "scrub", just rinse when done. Please read this article for more detailed info:

Both Messmers Timberflex and Wood Tux are very good products and will have similar life spans. The difference is that Timbeflex is a "film-forming" stain. This means you will get a "shiny" finish on top of the wood. Wood Tux is a penetrating stain and will have a dull finish. Both can be cleaned and re coated when needed.

There are two ways of removing the stain from the wood. The first one is power washing with a wood stripper and the second one is the process of sand or cob blasting. The second method uses fine sand or corn cob particles.
