I'd like to use Penofin on my gray mahogany deck. How should I first clean the deck? Should I power wash, use bleach, mild cleanser or what? What product would be best? Is Hardwood or Rose Oil correct? My painter says he'll need 5 gallons. If I order 5 gallons of Penofin Hardwood how much will the box weigh? I'll have to carry it by hand to get it to my vacation house. F. martin

You should use a wood cleaner followed by a wood brightener. Bleach is bad for wood. Here is an article that will help with the steps: Wood and Deck Cleaning Rosewood oil is in all of the Penofin products. A 5 gallon pail weighs 44 pounds.

The species of the wood has to be enquired into before the selection of the Mahogany decking work. The American Mahogany is a type of hard wood that does not split very easily. Preference should be given to such a type of deck.
