Penofin on fence 2 Years, 11 Months ago Karma: 0
I have a newly installed redwood privacy fence. 6' tall by 6" boards on 3 2X4 rails attached to 4X4 posts. I was advised to use the Penofin red lable product for superior ultraviolet protection. Can this product be sprayed onto the wood or must it be brushed/rolled on? My fenced runs approximately 120 feet. How much of the product should I need to protect adequately and how often should I plan to repeat the maintenance of my fence?

Thank you for your assistance.

The Penofin Red Label product can be sprayed on. It should be back brushed though to ensure it is applied evenly.

It applies at about 150 feet per gallon and should be redone every 2-4 years on a vertical surface.

Interested in your Red Label stain to stain my deck and fence. I am also looking at the Behr brand at Home Depot. I have a friend who believes in your product and wanted me to email you as to why I should go with the Penofin. Please let me know the differences in the two products. Thanks

Penofin is a penetrating oil finish that preserves and protects exterior wood.

Behr is a film forming acrylic stain that has major issues and complaints. It is hard to compare the two since Behr honestly is one of the worst products on the market. Here is a couple of key items:

1. The better the stain penetrates the better is works. Penofin
2. Looks more natural. Penofin
3. Easily cleanable and re coatable. Penofin
4. Better colors. Penofin
5. Looks like a thin paint. Behr

Please read this for more info on Behr:

Thanks
