Help with stamped concrete sealer 2 Years, 7 Months ago Karma: 0
I have stamped concrete patio and a paver stoop. I like the wet look sealer. I want to know if it is slippery when wet (the patio is near our pool). What should I use to clean the concrete before sealing because the stamped concrete has been sealed before but 90% is worn away. Pavers have never been sealed.

Typically it is not slippery when wet on pavers. On the Stamped concrete there could be an issue since it has been sealed previously and it is not as porous as the pavers. I would suggest using one of these wet look sealers:
Wet Look Concrete Sealer

The most popular being the SuperSeal25 and SuperSeal30

Adding this will greatly enhance traction:
SuperGrip

Just use water to clean unless you have an old sealer that has turned "white" in color. If that is the case you will need to strip.

What do you mean by white in color? It has dulled but it is not white. Do I need to strip if dull?

Thanks

No need to strip if dull. Only if the coating was taken on a "whitish" haze. Usually due to mositure under the sealer or a "cheap" sealer.

Hi,

I want to purchase concrete sealer for my stamped concrete. I’ve always used a product called matcrete diamond seal which gives it a nice wet look.

Which product should I purchase to get the same look? I assume it’s the superseal30 gloss? Is this right and is it ok to put on top of the matcrete?

Thanks!!

The SuperSeal30 is our highest gloss and will leave a nice rich sheen. I am not familiar with Matcrete. The SuperSeal30 is a solvent based sealer. If the Matcrete was solvent as well then yes it should be okay to seal over the top with. The only issue would be if the Matcrete has turned white or yellow in color. If it has then it should be stripped of prior to adding a new coating.
