PLEASE ADVISE OF YOUR OPINION ON THIS PRODUCT SINCE WE HAVE STRIPPED AS MUCH OF THE OLD STAIN OFF AS POSSIBLE ( BUT NOT 100%) WILL THIS COVER OVER THE OLD STAIN. AND HOW MUCH OF THE KNOTS AND GRAIN OF THE WOOD WILL YOU BE ABLE TO SEE.HOW LONG WILL THIS STAIN HOLD UP AND WHAT WOULD BE NEEDED TO DO TO INSURE THAT IT WOULD STILL BE GOOD LOOKING AFTER SEVERAL YEARS.

TWP 500 series is a very good product. As far as covering the old stain it depends on what the old stain is. The 500 series is transparent and will show all of the natural grain of the wood. Typically lasts about 2 years on the horizontals and twice as long on verticals. It should be cleaned and recoated every couple of years to maintain the wood.

SINCE WE HIRED SOME ONE TO DO THE LAST STRIPPING AND RESTAINING (THEY DID A POOR JOB) WE THINK IT IS SANSINS LOG STAIN. SINCE WE WERE NOT HAPPY WITH THE JOB THE PERSON WE HIRED DID -WE DECIDED TO TRY AND DO IT OURSELVES. PLEASE ADVISE WHICH COLORS TWP 500 IS AVAILABLE IN CURRENTLY OUR HOUSE IS CEDAR COLOR. PLEASE ADVISE SMALLEST AMOUNT WE CAN BUY TO TRY OUT THIS PRODUCT AND SEE HOW IT WORKS AND LOOKS ON OUR HOUSE.
