New Deck Stain Disaster!! Help! 1 Year, 9 Months ago Karma: 0
We made the mistake of letting a "friend" stain our deck. The deck was built 1 year ago with PT wood. We bought Olympic Toner Stain at Lowes. We did the deck cleaning ourselves. Its obvious the "friend" had no clue how to stain a deck. (although he supposably did it for a living)It came out uneven, overlap marks and has runs going down the spindle. He ruined our deck!!! We were not home and found this after it dried. This was just over 24 hours ago. What can we do? Is there something we can use to remove the newly applied stain? HELP!

Removing newly installed deck stain is not easy but it can be done. I would suggest using a wood deck stripper followed by a wood deck brightener. The HD80 stain stripper is the strongest.

You may need to apply the stripper more then once to get it off the wood completely.

Good luck!
