First off this product is not like a traditional "epoxy". It has a small amount of epoxy resin that will harden in the wood once it penetrates. It is not a film former like a garage epoxy paint. That being said this is a water borne product that will penetrate into the wood. It is removable in a couple of years with a deck stripper. Same as any oil based product. The
Defy Epoxy Stain product is mainly for pressure treated pine and virtually any vertical surface. If applying to hardwoods or cedar you would need the
Defy Stain for Hardwoods. This product was designed for dense and hard to penetrate wood(Your samples left today in 3 colors). Both of these stains can either be coated with a light maintenance coat or stripped whenever needed.
Defy is also coming out with a new Contractor friendly stain. As far as water based stains, this will probably be the best one yet. I believe it is set to launch and we should have it in stock at the beginning of April.
