Treating your Wood or Deck with transparent "tinted" Deck Stains will create a UV absorber, filtering out the damaging sunlight and preserving the natural color tones.
We had an ipe deck installed at our central texas home last summer and the builder applied Cabot's Australian Timber Oil (natural stain) to it after he completed the deck. It was very pretty but with the summer heat the stain gradually faded. We had the deck restained by another individual about 2 months ago and the person applied an excessive amount of the timber oil and made the mistake of using the natural and mahogony stain on the same deck, giving the deck a very ugly appearance. I need to know how to remove the stain from the deck with damaging the ipe and, if possible, restoring the wood to it's natural color. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks

Use a Deck Stripper to remove the finish followed by a deck brightener to neutralize. Depending on how thick the ATO is, you may need to strip more then once.
