Hi,

I have 2200 SQ feet of IPE decking. I have tried Messmers, Cabots, and a Behr clear. Am I only going to get a year out of these stains? What do you recommend doing? The deck is now clean again and ready for another round. I have a wrap around porch that keeps the color a little better than out in the direct sun. I am in Northern CA. (good climate). You appear to have the best price provided shipping is free on 10 gallons of Messmers. I am not shopping you around, just looking for advice. I will be out of town a few days and will get back to my order on Thursday. The last color I installed was Cabot's Austrailian timber oil so I will need something dark enough to cover that mess.

The problem isn't the stains but the IPE. Nothing will last more then one season on your type of wood. The Messmers seems to do the best and is our best selling product for IPE. Another option would be the Penofin, TWP 500 series, Defy Hardwood Stain, or Wood Tux.
