Wolman Extreme 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello,

I have applied Wolman’s Extreme to my pressure treated wood deck for the past twelve years. The deck needs another treatment but the “Extreme” Honey colored product that I believe is no longer available, plus I don’t want to use it again. Would you please advise me if there is a Wolman’s product available that is compatible with Extreme such that I could apply it over the Extreme? Or should I strip the sealer from the deck to an apply another product? What Wolman product would you recommend? If I choose to strip the old finish from the deck, what stripper would you recommend I apply to remove the old Wolman’s from the horizontal deck flooring, hand rails and the vertical up rights? The floor area of the deck is approximately 1,500 sq. ft. and I have 170 lineal feet of deck fencing with pickets that are 1 inch x 1 inch x 30 inches spaced one every five inches and finished on four sides.

Thank you.

Do you know if the Wolmans Extreme was a water base or a oil base? Either way I would strip off and start over. The problem is that you have multiple coats that are not easily removed from the many years of buildup. Water bases are harder to remove since they film-from and lay on top of the wood.
