Treating your Wood or Deck with transparent "tinted" Deck Stains will create a UV absorber, filtering out the damaging sunlight and preserving the natural color tones.
I had a contractor refinish my redwood deck using Messmers UV Plus. The problem is he put too much on. It has pooled, and after 4 days is still not dry and the extra is starting to wrinkle.
Is there a fix for this?

Over application can result in this. I would try to wipe down with lacquer thinner. Make sure to wear gloves and do not put the rags in direct sunlight or the garage. If this does not work then you will probably need to strip off and start over
thanks. the contractor was here yesterday, they're going to let it harden and then try to remove the top (excess) layer with light sanding and lacquer thinner. the problem is it's been 5 days and it's still sticky. frustrating.
thanks for replying so soon.

Sanding could cause an uneven appearance. They should do a light strip then recoat the entire floor lightly with the Messmers making sure they back wipe the excess stain.
yes, we discussed that. the thought was to first remove the hardened wrinkling that has occurred as the pooled stain shrinks. we also discussed using a 3M dish pad to try and remove the top layer.
thanks.
