Hello,
I am currently using Defy Epoxy Fortified stain on my chain saw carvings that I make and sell here at my shop. They are carved from white pine logs. I see that you have a new stain called Defy Original Wood Stain. I was wondering which would be the best for my application. I carve my carvings out of green wood and allow them to dry for usually a minimum of three months before I apply any stain. Since some of my carvings are very thick there is always some moisture at the heart of the wood.
I keep reading that the Epoxy Fortified stain is mainly recommended for pressure treated wood so I was wondering if the “Defy Original” stain would be a better choice. I am very pleased so far with the Epoxy Fortified stain so far, especially with the ease of application and low odor. It also gives the wood a very rich color. I end up applying at least 3 coats since a lot of the end grain is exposed on my carvings and the wood is quite rough and dry.
Please let me know what your opinion is as far as which stain is best suited for my application.
Thank you,
Craig

I would stay with the Defy Epoxy since it is working for you. No reason to change.
