Unfortunately Sikkens is on of the most difficult products to remove. Do you know which version you used? Cetol or DEK? Does it have a shiny varnished look or a flat dull look?

It used to have a shiny varnished look. I did not do the original application. I could only guess which one it is.

It is hard to tell you if it will strip off easily. When the finish is "shiny" it film forms on top of the wood. Deck Strippers will have difficult penetrating this. I would suggest stripping first to remove as much as possible followed by sanding after to remove the rest. You will need an aggressive deck stripper.
